Corporations in the private and public sector, as well as governments and universities depend on bureaucracies to function. As a result, bureaucracy plays a fundamental part in the American government. It is mandated to perform three main tasks; administration, regulation and implementation. The importance of bureaucracy in the American government and the fact that it affects our day to day lives pushed my desire to research on the topic.All the stakeholders involved in the bureaucracy work with a single purpose of administering the law. As a result, bureaucracy is intertwined with other topics covered in this module such as the presidency, federal courts and the congress. Albeit the executive division oversees the bulk of the federal bureaucracy, the judiciary and the legislative divisions also have some supremacy (Rosen, 7). Congress, for instance, oversees the congressional research service, library of congress and the government accountability office. In addition, its oversight role enables it to monitor the federal bureaucracy to ensure its running appropriately. Federal courts are related to the aspect of bureaucracy especially where issues of constitutionality and law arise, such as when a rule is dishonored or if an agency such as homeland security oversteps its jurisdiction.This website is an exemplary tool of conducting research with regards to the issue of bureaucracy. In addition, it sheds more light on how the department of homeland security is building partnerships with other agencies to protect the nation from external and internal acts of terrorism.
